Andrea Joy Cook
A.J. Cook is a Canadian actress best known for her roles in the feature films The Virgin Suicides (1999) and Final Destination 2 (2003) as well as for her character in the role of Jennifer 'JJ' Jareau in the television drama Criminal Minds. Cook's television credits include Dead Like Me (also known as Tru Calling), Higher Ground, Bluemoon and PSI Factor. Cook was born in Whitby by her father Mike who is a school teacher and mother Sandra who is a psychiatrist. She grew up with the rest of her siblings Angela, Nathan and Paul. She is an Mormon and a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. When she was a little girl, she took tap, jazz, and ballet dance. However, it wasn't until she reached 17 that she decided to start acting. She had competed in numerous dance contests. The film Dirty Dancing starring Patrick Swayze was the catalyst for her becoming an actress. In August 2001, Cook married her long-time boyfriend Nathan Andersen, whom she attended a film workshop in Utah Valley University. They have a son, Mekhai Allan Andersen, born on the 13th of September in 2008. She lives in Los Angeles
