Andrea Jeremiah
Andrea Maria Jeremiah, an Indian actress and musician most well known for her work in Tamil as well as Malayalam films. Annayum, Rasoolum marked her Malayalam and Tamil debut. Her debut was in Tamil with Pachaikili Muthucharam. Andrea Jeremiah has been raised in the Tamil Nadu region in an Anglo-Indian family. Her father is a Madras High Court lawyer. There is a younger sister who lives and works at Leuven Belgium as a research assistant. Jeremiah was raised near Chennai and went to National Public School and graduated from Women's Christian College. Andrea was an eight year old classical musician who was extremely geeky. Young Stars was the Jackson Five-style band that Andrea joined at age 10. The band led her to her debut singing career and early music composition. Also, she was a theatre student at her school and appeared in several stage plays organised through The Madras Players and EVAM. She served as President of the Women's Christian College's Student Senate. Andrea's stage career started with the play of Girishkarnad Nagamandala. She starred with Shiva in a Leo commercial for a coffee. The actress also appeared in a TV serial that aired on Podhigai. She has performed all over India. She was in a short role at the end of Kanda Mudhal 2005. Following her performance of a song in Gautham Vasudev Menon's Vettaiyaadu he asked her to play as one of the lead female characters in his upcoming venture Pachaikili Muthucharam. The film was an adaptation of James Siegel's novel Derailed. It featured Andrea as Kalyani a homemaker her husband who is caught in an affair and is targeted by a blackmailer. Andrea was approached following Simran Shobana's death and Tabu. The film premiered in the beginning of 2010. In August 2011 Venkat Prabhu launched his multi-starrer Mankatha. The film was commissioned to fill a smaller part in the film. In 2013 she made her debut in Malayalam cinema by playing Rajeeev Ravi's romantic film Annayum Rasoolum.
