Anita Sarkeesian is a Canadian-American feminist media critic and public speaker. Feminist Frequency is a website with video and an online blog on the representation of female characters in popular media and popular. Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian-American media critic and blog writer that has received awards for her work, is a feminist blogger. Feminist Frequency, a website dedicated to education, which examines women's roles in pop culture narratives It is the brainchild of Anita Sarkeesian. She also serves as the director of operations. Aiming to break down the stereotypes of women that have been portrayed in popular culture, she seeks to bring attention to the targeted harassment of women as well as other classes of individuals in the internet world. Sarkeesian, who holds a Master's in Social and Political thought at York University, is a sought after public speaker. She has given speeches at TEDxWomen's XOXO Festival and the United Nations Broadband Working Group for Gender. Feminist Frequency was created in 2009 by Sarkeesian, an undergraduate student at York University who had been fascinated by issues concerning gender and feminism for quite a long time. This ambitious woman planned to create an online series that examined the role of gender in games and was then the victim of an online campaign to harass her. She was not deterred by the harassment, actually, it just reinforced her determination to be feminist and media critic. Her notable contributions to the field of feminists have been recognized by numerous prizes. Anita Sarkeesian was a multi-award winner for her work as a media journalist. She is also the creator and director of Feminist Frequency an educational non-profit organisation that studies pop culture gender representations.
