Julia Fiona Roberts is the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus, and Walter Grady Roberts. She was born on October 28, 1967 at Atlanta. Julia Fiona Roberts is the fourth generation of Roberts who reside in Atlanta. Her father's passion for theatre was inherited by her. in the theatre at a young stage. As a college student studying at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he participated in numerous performances. In 1953, he joined the Air Force. While stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi, he appeared in a production that he performed in with Betty Lou Bredemus. In 1955, the couple got married and in 1956 their child Eric Anthony was born. Walter and his wife left the military in 1957 and enrolled Walter at Tulane University. Walter was hired as a technician by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to be a part of the production team for Bum Bum and His Buddies in Decatur Georgia. Walter as well as Betty Lou produced a Saturday matinee local TV show for children known as Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964. This was a project that they funded themselves. They also founded the Actors and Writers Workshop in that same year. It was in operation for a period of about six years. Lelisa Billingsley who is also referred to as Lisa was born in 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
