LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born December 30, 1984) was an American professional basketball player with the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Nicknamed King James he is widely thought to be one of the best basketball players ever and is frequently compared to Michael Jordan in debates over the greatest basketball player ever. James has won four NBA championships and four NBA MVPs Three All-Star MVPs, along with the two Olympic medals. James has scored the second most career goals and seventh in assists. He has been selected for the NBA All Star team 18 times. James has been named an NBA All-Star 18 times to the All-NBA Team a record 18 times, and was named for his place on the NBA All-Defensive First Team five times. As a total, James participated in 10 NBA Finals, the third-most in history. The streak spans eight consecutive years from 2011 to 2018. James has been selected for an NBA 75th Anniversary Team and became the NBA's first player who has accumulated 10,000 or more points in rebounds, assists, and points in his career in 2022. James played basketball at St. Vincent St. Mary High School, located in Akron Ohio. The national press praised him as an NBA star. As a prep-to-pro player, he was chosen by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in 2003's NBA draft. Being the NBA rookie of the year 2004 he established himself rapidly as one of the best players in the league, earning the NBA MVP awards for 2009 and 2010. James was not able to secure the award with Cleveland, and then left Cleveland as an "free agent" in 2010. This decision was made during the television special The Decision.
